nquity House is home to 139 senior individuals and couples who appreciate living in a park-like setting in the midst of a convenient neighborhood. Our Boston, Quincy, Newton, Braintree and Canton area retirement community is situated on the Neponset River, residents can commune with nature from their balconies or enjoy a short walk to the MBTA trolley stop, churches and shopping.
The heart of Unquity House is the common area on the first floor, designed for spontaneous socialization. There is usually a "buzz" of activities and conversations, either in the living room, the library, or the cafe/convenience store. The first floor also includes a cheery laundry room, large dining hall used for monthly dinners, lunches and social events, and a beauty parlor. Visitors are greeted by a friendly face at the security desk by the front door.
Outdoors there are several seating areas taking advantage of the shade trees and views of the river. In bad weather, there is no reason to go out. Each floor is designed with its own comfortable sitting area and residents can pick up essentials at the convenience store or feel free to join neighbors for coffee in the cafe any time of day.
Unquity House offers many opportunities for intellectual, spiritual and cultural enrichment, exercise and social interaction. The Activities Coordinator plans a wide variety of events including weekly van trips.
Rents at Unquity House are affordable. Under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Rental Assistance Demonstration, those who meet the HUD income guidelines pay rent equal to 30% of their adjusted gross income.
Unquity House is managed by Milton Residences for the Elderly (MRE), a non-profit organization that has developed and managed affordable housing for seniors since its
inception in 1968. In addition to Unquity House, MRE is the managing agent for Winter Valley apartments in Milton.
